Animals often look for safe and well-covered places to keep their babies, and in the case of one squirrel it was in the engine compartment of a New Hampshire woman's car.

Luckily, she popped the hood and spotted them, according to UPI.

Before long, animal control specialist Bonnie Robinson from the Portsmouth Police Department was on the scene, securing the babies and transporting them to a wildlife center.

Photos of the impressive nest and one of the little squirrels were shared on the department's Facebook page.

Spring is one of the two times per year squirrels give birth, with late summer being the other.
