A community in Florida is outraged after students fell ill after consuming weed-laced gummy candy, 10 News reports. The Pinellas County School District says seven students at Boca Ciega High School ate the candy and four were hospitalized.

Kellie Boxx's daughter is of the students who was rushed to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital after eating the gummy candy.

"She ate some gummy bears or something that was supposed to be injected with something," said Kellie Boxx. "I'm not happy with this at all."

After a preliminary investigation the candy tested positive for marijuana. It is currently being tested for further analysis.

The candy was allegedly supplied by two other students who have been charged in Pinellas County.

Rosie Santiago, a student at the school, says her friend ate the candies too.

"She just ate it like a regular piece of candy and just started tripping out and freaking out," Santiago said. "She was dazing, had her head down, just kind of in a trance. You couldn't really talk to her. She couldn't function well, just real slow kind of just losing your mind, honestly."

Candy laced with drugs has been discovered by investigators across the country. Flakka, a popular drug in Miami is being made to look like gummy candy.
