Egg-sized hailstones rained down on a Chinese city and smashed holes in cars
Residents of Liuzhou City in Guangxi, China, got a rude shock on Saturday after a freak hailstorm, when they discovered what the weather did to their vehicles parked outside.
Hailstones the size of eggs rained down on the streets and cars parked along the side of the roads. Although the storm only lasted 10 minutes, the havoc wreaked was comparable to a scene out of a Marvel movie fight scene, going by social posts.
Several car windscreens were smashed, and some even had golf-ball sized dents on its bodywork, reported People's Daily.
Fortunately, no human casualties were reported.
According to Chinese media reports, the rain and hail had come down unexpectedly in the afternoon, and it was unusually hot earlier in the day.
