Apparently, Aerosmith is tired of doing the same old song and dance.

Steven Tyler, the group's singer, told Rolling Stone on Wednesday that the group will "probably" launch a farewell tour next year.

The group is currently on hiatus, so that Tyler can promote his upcoming country album.

"I'm doing 30 [solo] shows from May until August," Tyler said. "And then in 2017 we go out with Aerosmith. We're probably doing a farewell tour."

The singer added that he's "grateful" that the group, which formed in Boston in 1970, has remained intact over the decades.

"Look, there's two bands that still have the original members, us and the Stones," Tyler noted. "I'm grateful for that. Whether we do a farewell tour or go into the studio and do another record, I'm just excited about it."

Tyler's sentiments echo those of Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford, who said during a podcast in December, "We are actually talking about that — about actually putting together a sort of wind-down tour which we would call the Farewell Tour."

"Music From Another Dimension!" the group's most recent album, was released in 2012. Aerosmith toured last year, playing 18 shows from June to September on a road jaunt dubbed the Blue Army Tour.
