Clinton and Sanders debate dates for debate

Mark your calendars.

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have agreed to a Democratic debate in New York on April 14, just five days before the crucial primary election in the Empire State.

The debate, hosted by CNN and local news station NY1, will take place in Brooklyn and will be moderated by Wolf Blitzer.

CNN chief political correspondent Dana Bash and NY1 political anchor Errol Louis will also take part. Both CNN and NY1 will air the debate live from 6 to 8 p.m. PT.

The announcement comes after days of arguing over the date and place.

The Clinton campaign insisted on the April 14 date, but the Sanders camp quickly shot back accusing Clinton of "disingenuously" announcing she had agreed to the the date knowing Sanders had a prior commitment for a rally.

On Monday, the city's mayor, Bill de Blasio, a Clinton supporter, offered to help mediate the situation.

"Let's make @NY1 4/14 BKLYN debate happen," he tweeted. "@BernieSanders: I'll help you secure any permit you need to ensure your NYC rally can happen too."

The debate will be held at the Duggal Greenhouse on the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the borough where Sanders was born and where Clinton has her campaign headquarters.

This will be the first time since the two candidates will face each other since the Univision debate on March 9.
