Surveillance cameras were rolling at a Newport, Rhode Island, pizza joint when a car can be seen pummeling through the front door.

Footage shows what appears to be a small four-door sedan crashing through the Mama Leone's entrance causing glass to shatter all over floor and the car coming to a rest moments later.

Nobody can be seen inside the restaurant at the time as it occurred overnight, according to local reports.

"My first reaction was thank God nobody got hurt," restaurant owner Paulina Reves said.

The driver didn't suffer serious injuries other than a cut to his face from the air bag.

Video captures the man, identified by local police as James Bell, 33, of Jacksonville, Fla., exiting the car through the passenger side.

Police issued a citation for speeding and failure to control his vehicle.

The restaurant acknowledged the accident on their Facebook page and will keep customers notified about its reopening soon.

We have made the decision to close until next week. The damage caused from the wreck needs to be cleaned. Have a good Easter Holiday. We will see everyone next week
