Obvious Study Says Working More Hours May Actually Kill You

New research says working extra hours could be bad for your health. Not like we need any more proof of that, but hey - it can't hurt to have all the possible facts. And actually, it doesn't even have to be hours, PLURAL. One to two hours of extra work can boost your risk of cardiovascular disease. At least that's what the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine says.

For the most part, people with typical full time jobs worked more than the standard 40 hours a week, clocking in at around 45. The study found that over 10 years, those people only saw a 1% increase in risk for cardiovascular disease for every extra hour worked. Not too bad. But the longer you work, the worse it gets. Working a 55 hour week saw a 16% increase, and a 60 hour week lead to a 35% higher risk of heart disease.
