After the release of Johnny Manziel, the Cleveland Browns had hoped that was the last that they would hear from the troubled quarterback who has turned into a waste of a first-round pick. That's not the case, as Manziel's friends have made it known that the Johnny Football reportedly never felt wanted by the Browns coaching staff.

"Johnny Manziel never really felt like the [Browns] coaches wanted him there," a close friend said, via MMQB. "When [Manziel] was thrust into [a starting] role, it became very clear he had no idea what was going on," added a former Browns coach. "He went out there and had no clue."

That narrative runs counter to the consensus opinion, which places the blame for Manziel's failures in Cleveland to being unprepared and too much partying. He has failed to adjust to the NFL because he was not yet ready to be a grown man when the Browns drafted him in the first round in 2014. Reportedly, ownership wanted Manziel, not the coaches or the front office. This likely created at least some tension between Johnny Football and the rest of the coaching staff.

Whoever was at fault, the Browns and Manziel both have a lot of work to do. Manziel must rebuild his career and get his life in order. The Browns must once again try to find a franchise quarterback.
