A rare genetic condition called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) has left 20-year-old Claudia Powell unable to stand without having an allergic reaction.
The condition causes Powell's heart rate to shoot up when she stands. "In basic terms, I'm allergic to standing upright. It's affected my lifestyle, I have to use a wheelchair if I'm going out," she says.

She created a Facebook page call Sick & Tired - Living with Chronic Illness at 19 to spread awareness about living with a chronic illness after she was also diagnosed with endometriosis.
Although Powell under went surgery for the condition, nothing changed and she is still in constant pain. Powell's battle with endometriosis is coupled with POTS.
"My day consists of laying in bed because sitting up, being upright is too hard on my body," she writes.
