Skincare mavens, the moment has arrived. Gwyneth Paltrow, founder of lifestyle brand goop, has launched her first-ever organic skincare line. In what seems to truly have been a labor of love ("I'm sure I drove my team crazy!" Paltrow joked) the beauty team at goop collaborated with Juice Beauty to create what is known as "GP's Essential Six."

Six products that you'll want to get your hands on, stat -- ranging from an exfoliating instant facial mask, $125 (the one that Paltrow says she uses daily because she loves it so much -- even though you only need to use it 2-3 times a week) to a face oil, $110 and a luminous melting cleanser, $140. We loved hearing her talk about the line, because you can feel her excitement and pride in the products as she explained the thinking behind each.

"I was very specific about how I wanted each to smell and feel, have sort of an ocean-y scent and be really fresh and clean... I really approached it as a customer," she explained. She also went on to tell us everything she learned about skincare by working on this collaboration -- the team at goop have always been proponents of clean beauty so of course, when making their own product, they did everything necessary to practice what they preach.

"You have this idea of clean, non-toxic beauty," Paltrow said, "but when you really start to look at what that means and what's allowed in our products, what we have been putting on our skin our whole lives and absorbing into our bodies... it really galvanized me. The more I learned about it, the more I was committed to making these products -- to give people the choice of a really luxurious skin product that was clean."

So what's the key to glowing, youthful skin? Aside from great products, Paltrow says these are the three big factors:

  • Hydration -- "Hydration is really, really important. Which is why a little himalayan sea salt is good in your water, too, for absorption." (Gwyneth also adds a pinch to her morning smoothies!)

  • Nutrition -- "Without good nutrition, it's very hard to have good skin. Your skin tells all of your secrets, you know?"

  • Exercise -- "Exercise encourages circulation, perspiration and detoxing of your skin."

Goop skincare is available now on Goop.com and in select stores.
