The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their children Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, 10 months, on their first vacation as a family of four.

Kensington Palace released a series of wintery pictures on Monday. A spokesperson confirmed that the adorable family had gone for a short ski trip to the French Alps last week.

"This was their first holiday as a family of four and the first time either of the children have played in the snow," the Kensington Palace representative said. Will and Kate, both avid skiers, have not had the chance to hit the slopes since the birth of George in 2013.

Photos of their recent ski trip to the French Alps:

A single photographer, Press Association's John Stillwell, was invited to take portraits of the family instead of the usual masses. Stillwell not only captured a formal picture of the family, but also a flirtatious snowball fight between Will and Kate.

Princess Charlotte has grown a lot since fans were treated to Christmas pictures from Kensington Palace. Some, however, thought that the photo was a little too picture perfect and accused the royal family of Photoshopping in Princess Charlotte. Take a look for yourself here.
