A hair-raising new trend appeared at New York Fashion Week this year.

Libertine, a brand known for throwing out all "normal" conventions in favor of avant-garde punk styles, certainly did just that with their newest invention -- furry nails.

During Libertine's fall/winter 2016 show runway show, many of the models donned manicures with an appliqué of faux-fur, some in a light brown, others in a stark white.

Cosmopolitan reports that to get the look, the CND nail polish team painted each nail with Vinylux Weekly Polish in the shades "Rubble" and "Cream Puff." Then, they adhered the brown or white faux fur to each nail with Super Shiney High-Gloss Top Coat.

Though the nails are certainly bizarre and not really practical in the least way, they are oddly pretty ... And if ever there was a time for that kind of thing, it's certainly Fashion Week.
