Chico, California might not ring any bells. But when you realize it's the former hometown of genius painter Jackson Pollock, the whimsical, nature-abundant and quaint home that you envision is exactly what you'll find.

Well, as quaint as a home can be for just shy of $1M.

Pollock, who lived in the home with his parents and four older brothers in the first quarter of the 20th century, probably found limitless inspiration among the 18+ acres of property--land upon land including a walnut orchard and a gorgeous creek.

The main house is two stories, quaint and characteristic of the area. The real selling point are the views from nearly every room, and the spacious front porch and patio that bring a sense of peace in the craziness that can come with Northern California. But if you're up for the liveliness of the city, the home is only a few minutes away from downtown Chico.

Next to the main house is a one-bedroom studio apartment set in the backyard, perhaps the perfect place for the new owner of the home to spark their own creative expertise, as Pollock had before.
