A mother and her boyfriend have been arrested for allegedly using waterboarding techniques as punishment on her 13-year-old mentally disabled son. The pair is accused of subjecting him to a variety of torture techniques, CBS DFW reports.

Christi Howell, the boy's mom, was arrested last week. While Howell reportedly admitted to torturing her son, she claims her boyfriend, 45-year-old Casey Shackleford made her do it.

The arrest affidavit reveals the disturbing details of this case. Shackleford allegedly pinned the boy down and held a towel over his face while Howell poured water over his mouth and nose.

Howell and Shackleford also tied rope around the boy's genitals and neck causing injuries to his body, including rope burns, bruises and cuts.

When interviewed by authorities, the boy said he was punished for telling Shackleford that he had inappropriately touched the family's dog's butt. He also accused Howell of striking him 20 to 30 times on the back for not maintaining good form while doing push-ups

Shackelford turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday and the child is now in foster care.
