France Making It Illegal to Check Work Emails Outside of Work Hours

France is passing a lot of laws that would give workers the right to ignore emails for hours if they're not scheduled to be working.

France isn't satisfied with being a nation that has installed a 35 hour work week. They want to keep work at work. The new law would give employees the right to ignore calls, texts and emails from bosses on nights and weekends so that they can go socialize.

Okay, I know so many of you are freaking out saying, "Man! The French are lazy," but actually let that information sink in.

You would not get in trouble for not answering emails. It doesn't take more than two seconds to search Google to find that our constant state of connectedness is killing us. People are more depressed, overwhelmed and think they're missing out. Maybe it's a little lofty or unrealistic, but isn't that what society should be trying to head towards? Besides this would give everyone more time to drink wine, focus on exploring their cities and making real connections.
