Clinton, Trump lead in Virginia, Poll Shows

Countdown to Super Tuesday

Hillary Clinton leads Bernie Sanders 52%-40% among likely Democratic primary voters in Virginia; Donald Trump leads among Republicans with 28% backing, followed by Marco Rubio at 22%, according to a poll by Wason Center for Public Policy at Christopher Newport University.

  • Ted Cruz is backed by 19%, Ben Carson and John Kasich get 7%, Jeb Bush at 4%
  • NOTE: Virginia one of several states that votes in March 1 Super Tuesday primaries
  • NOTE: Poll of 735 registered voters conducted Feb. 3-14 has error margin of +/- 4.3 ppts; Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, Jim Gilmore dropped out of race during survey
