Baby born in Fayetteville Sam's Club
FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- A pregnant shopper got to leave the store with an extra special Valentine this weekend.
The woman was shopping in the Fayetteville Sam's Club on Sunday (Feb. 14) when she went into labor, Washington County Regional Ambulance Authority Central EMS confirmed.
Employees said the woman was rushed to the women's restroom, where she had the baby at 12:30 p.m. She had the baby before Central EMS could get to the store, but the workers talked the woman and some of the employees through the delivery, said Central EMS chief Becky Stewart.
When helping deliver babies outside of a hospital, EMS workers follow a list of steps to ensure the baby is delivered safely, Stewart said.
Sam's Club officials confirmed both the baby and mother were healthy, but they were unable to confirm the baby's gender or name.
However, we would like to suggest either Samuel or Samantha.
