We're going to see a lot less of Lena Dunham in the upcoming days.

On Monday the 29-year-old actress revealed that she is skipping her HBO series' sixth and final press tour due to an ongoing illness.

The Girls star, creator and executive producer addressed her followers -- aka her "beloved pals" -- on Instagram to fill them in on the status of her health.

"I just wanted to let you know that, while I am so excited for Girls to return on Feb 21, I won't be out and about doing press for the new season," she wrote, accompanied with what appears to be a photo of her hand on a bed.

"As many of you know I have endometriosis, a chronic condition that affects approximately 1 in 10 women's reproductive health. I am currently going through a rough patch with the illness and my body (along with my amazing doctors) let me know, in no uncertain terms, that it's time to rest," she continued. "That's a hard thing to do, but I'm trying, because all I want is to make season 6 of Girls the best one yet."

Dunham added that she'll have "support and backup" from her Girls co-stars -- Allison Williams, Jemima Kirk, and Zosia Mamet -- as well as her co-executive producers Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner.

"So many women with this disease literally don't have the option of time off and I won't take it for granted," she ended her message. "Wishing you all health & happiness, in whatever form suits you."

Dunham also added the signature: "Back soon – xxLena."

Season six of Girls premieres Sunday, Feb. 21 on HBO.
