Here's the largest company by revenue in every state

America's corporations include some of the largest companies in the world, and those companies are broadly distributed across the nation. We found the largest company in each state.

For most of the states, we took the highest-ranked company headquartered in each state from the 2015 Fortune 1000 list, which ranks publicly traded companies by revenue. A handful of states — Alaska, Maine, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming — had no Fortune 1000 headquarters. For those states, we took the company with the highest sales according to the business intelligence firm Hoover's.
