Panthers Vs. Broncos: Complete Super Bowl 50 Preview

The NFL's latest evolution takes place on Monday night with the first ever primetime edition of Media Day. What was long-derided as a circus of pageantry and grandstanding now has taken the leap.

Really, it was only a matter of time before this happened. For the past decade or so the writing has been on the wall. More costumes. More scantily clad women. More marriage proposals. More soundbites. More insanity. More canned responses. It's bedlam, pandemonium, any "real" journalist's nightmare; a dream for people who enjoy the lighter side of life.

This shift for Media Day – away from a midweek, middle-of-the-day action – to primetime is yet another example of the NFL being the country's greatest marketing machine (apologies to the Kardashian Klan). It started with the Super Bowl, moved to the NFL Draft, and then the combine and now Media Day. Think about that: the league has made people jumping on boxes and others asking questions while wearing banana suits must-see television. Pretty doggone impressive.
