Woman Thanks Cop Who Saved Her Life After Dog Attack

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS - A Cleveland Heights woman was in tears as she thanked the officer who saved her during a dog attack.

"I'm dying, that's all I could think was, that I was dying," Chante Pray, 22, told Fox 8's Jack Shea. "I hear it like, growling and just shaking, and I don't know, for some reason I'm just trying to pull my leg away."

She is recovering from several bite wounds after a neighbor's dog attacked her Sunday. The dog was supposed to be quarantined at the time of the attack for a previous incident earlier this month.

The dog's owner was cited for keeping a vicious dog and not having proof of liability insurance.

Cleveland Heights Everett Hayworth arrived during the attack and ended up shooting and killed the dog when it charged at him.

"I really appreciate the officer saving me because if he wouldn't have saved me, I wouldn't be with my daughter, my daughter wouldn't have a mom," the mother of one said.
