Man faces jail for feeding stray cat
The Canadian man is facing a $276 fine for not having ownership of the cat, which isn't exactly a stray.
The man claims the cat is owned by his ex-wife.
However, when he told the officer that he didn't own the cat but just fed it because it just kept showing up, the officer told him "you feed it, you own it."
He disagrees, and faces 11 days in jail. The ex- wife said she never thought of buying a license for the cat since it's feral.

But he's not going down without a fight and took his crazy case all the way to court! He said that he doesn't live in the house where his wife feeds the cat anymore, but couldn't come up with any proof he's living anywhere else.
Seems like a lot of struggle to get out of paying $276 but wait...it gets better!
The man says he'll turn himself in as soon as police get the warrant and he said "maybe I'll have a rest for a few days."
We're not quite sure if he should be checking into the jailhouse or the nuthouse.
By the way, his ex-wife finally bought a license for the cat so she'll worry about feeding it, and the man will be standing up for what he believes in behind bars.....and now you know why to always finalize custody of the pets after a breakup!
