American Woman Found Dead in Florence Apartment

Italian police have launched a murder investigation after an American woman was found dead in her Florence apartment.

She was reportedly found with bruises and scratches on her neck.

According to local media reports, the 35-year-old woman, identified as Ashley Olsen, was found by her Italian boyfriend.

He says he had contacted Olsen's landlord to allow him access to her apartment after not seeing her for three days.

Both the boyfriend and landlord were reportedly questioned by police but there were no immediate suspects.

Results of an autopsy are expected to provide more details into Olsen's death.
