We're closing in on the halfway point of this NBA season, and the legitimate playoff threats are beginning to emerge.

For the first time in year, it's the Eastern Conference that's leading the way, with nine teams over .500 entering play on Friday. The West, typically dominant, sports just six teams with winning records.
