While the Golden Globes are often a time for stars to step up their hair and beauty game more than usual, this year's awards show saw more subtle hair and makeup than in years past. Eye makeup was kept light, skin was glowing but not overly bronzed and the natural lip reigned, save for a bold red here and there -- but who doesn't love that?

Also different than in previous years, hair was done up but in low key, pretty styles like ponytails, chignons and messy buns, and a deep side part was clearly the go-to look of the evening.
