Even before the Bangerz era began, Miley Cyrus announced her creative rebirth with a haircut heard round the world in late 2012. Chopping off her Hannah Montana locks for a bleached pixie cut, the move signaled a sea change was coming in the Cyrus circus.

Now, Miley is returning to her hair roots -- literally.

The pop star shared an Instagram pic that shows her growing out her blonde hair and letting her natural brown tone back in. Additionally, she's wearing her hair longer than we've seen in years -- and noticeably less wild, too.

While fans are fixating on her follicles, Cyrus didn't post the pic to share her new 'do. She ran into Alimi Ballard, i.e., "our favorite quiz master." Although most recently known for Numb3rs, Miley mostly remembers the actor from his recurring stint on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
