The Maroon 5 frontman previously bleached his hair in 2014, so it is possible that this could just be a throwback photo. Still, Levine is no stranger to switching up his look. The singer's hair only recently grew back after he shaved his head earlier this year.

One area Levine is definitely changing up: his chiseled chest and stomach. The 36-year-old took to Instagram last week to show off a few "new friends," aka tattoos. Judging by the partially shirtless selfie, it looks like Levine's new ink includes a drawing of a hand holding a flower with the phrase "True Love" over his heart, his home state of California written in block letters over his abs, and some sort of animal with a tail on his upper pelvic region. (A lion? A tiger? Oh, my.)

Some new friends...

Levine seems to be in a celebratory mood as we head into 2016. His contestant, Jordan Smith, was crowned the winner of The Voice's ninth season, and Levine just couldn't help gloating about his victory over fellow coach Blake Shelton.

"It's really quite beautiful because Jordan gets to win The Voice and I get to tear Blake apart for the next six months," Levine beamed after the finale. "[I'll be] bragging about my win and his drought of victory. It's gonna be great."
