The "Hills" star dropped bombshell pregnancy news on Instagram early Friday, but she may have shocked her fans with a surprise move. Pregnancy test in hand, the beaming expecting mom captioned the photo: "I finally figured out what to get Corey for Christmas! #babyontheway #ClearBlueConfirmed #ad (blog post with all the details will be up today, couldn't wait to share the news with you all:)! Xoxo"
While we're no strangers to celebs announcing their baby news on social media -- potentially getting a paycheck for promoting a brand during the announcement is a little much, don't you think? Judging by her hashtags #ClearblueConfirmed and #ad, the enterprising starlet snatched a deal with pregnancy test manufacturer Clearblue before sharing the happy news.

Patridge wrote in a blog post on her website that it "has been incredibly difficult keeping [her] mouth shut on this one" ... until she potentially struck a deal with one of the largest pregnancy test brands in the world, that is.
