1. It's Not Easy Being Green (and Alone)

The Internet cried when Kermit and Miss Piggy announced their break-up. Kermit even had to release an official statement. Who know the frog had a PR team?

Even still, there are fans rooting for their reconciliation!

2. 19 Kids and Cancelled

The ultra-conservative Duggar clan sent people to their search bar following the revelation that the family's eldest son, Josh, had molested 5 underaged girls. After the news broke, the family's TLC show, "19 Kids and Counting," was canceled.

The scandal grew even larger when Josh admitted to being unfaithful to his wife during the Ashley Madison website leak.

3. The Royal Treatment

Anglophiles the world over oohed and ahhed over the adorable chubby cheeks of Prince William and Kate Middleton's second child, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. If her birth and her christening are any indication, this kid will be on the most-searched list for many years to come.

4. Keeping Up with Lamar

Being an extended part of the Kardashian clan garners attention, especially when things go wrong. Just look at the story of Lamar Odom's collapse in a Nevada brothel, which garnered millions of Internet searches.

5. The Student Becomes the Master

Caitlyn Jenner clearly learned a thing or two about the art of breaking the Internet from her stepdaughter, Kim Kardashian. She stole the show when she revealed her picture on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine.

So buckle up for 2016, because you never know what the New Year — or the Internet — has in store for us.
