Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson donates $1,500 to save puppy named Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson
As if Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson hadn't done enough puppy-saving for a lifetime, he recently donated $1,500 to Saving SPOT, a rescue organization, to help save the life of a puppy with his namesake.
Saving SPOT took Dwayne the dog in from a Los Angeles animal shelter, where he was abandoned with a large metal wire wrapped around his mouth. When Dwayne 'The Rock' (the dog) Johnson's situation gained some attention, our favorite former WWE wrestler lived up to his heroic 'Hercules' performance and came to the rescue.

Although the abandoned pup, named by Saving SPOT, was safe from whatever abusive environment he had been in before, more medical problems arose even after the wire was removed and 17 stitches were put in. It became clear that the celebrity-named pup suffered from a "dangerous heart murmur and needed a cardio exam." Saving SPOT launched a GoFundMe page to save the poor puppy.
Social media then proved its worth when actress Michelle Trachtenberg filled Johnson in on the situation via Twitter, explaining that the puppy "was in desperate need of financial aid."
After retweeting Trachtenberg's message, Johnson donated $1,500 to the puppy's medical well-being. Since 'The Rock's' involvement in this situation, Saving SPOT's $5,000 goal was surpassed by $1,000. The philanthropic organization has promised to use any funds not necessary for DTRJ's health for the 60+ dogs they care for.
We can officially smell what 'The Rock' is cooking -- some serious puppy love.
