The force awakened at Hot Topic on Monday, as the retailer released a new collection of clothing for female "Star Wars" fans ahead of the Dec. 18 release date of "The Force Awakens."

The collection comes from Her Universe, the "fangirl fashion" company founded by Ashley Eckstein who voices Ahsoka Tano in the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "Star Wars: Rebels." The items sell for around $60.

The press release announcing the collection also included an open letter form Eckstein herself, in which she urged fans to "step into the spotlight" by posting their "Star Wars" story onto social media with the hashtag #MyStarWarsStory.

The actress also took the opportunity to dismiss any gender stereotypes about the franchise.

"How can you put a gender on 'Star Wars,'" Eckstein wrote. 'Star Wars' is for everyone."
