OnlyOnAOL: Reese Witherspoon reveals how her daughter helped her prepare for the Glamour Women of the Year Awards

Between being a flawless movie star and a total boss at running her production company Pacific Standard, Reese Witherspoon is the perfect role model for her 16-year-old daughter, Ava. Witherspoon started her production company to make a concerted effort to create more leading roles for women in Hollywood movies; she wanted to see more women in film, so she made it happen.

That willingness -- and ability -- to make things that she wants to see happen is something that Witherspoon wants her daughter to recognize as important. She wanted to provide an avenue for her daughter to be exposed to strong, complicated female characters so she would know she can be strong, too.

But that doesn't mean that she can't learn a thing or two from her daughter, as well. Speaking to AOL on the red carpet of the 25th annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards, Witherspoon revealed that she was "really nervous, to be completely honest," so her daughter helped prepare for her big night.

"I was completely freaked out, so she helped me work on my speech," she revealed. " She's an incredible writer, so she helped me put my ideas down on paper and helped me talk in a way that sort of expresses my true self."

Clearly, daughter Ava inherited Witherspoon's smarts! As she reminded us in her acceptance speech at the awards, she got into -- and attended -- Stanford University.

Will she be giving you a review of it afterwards?

"Yes, of course! I look forward to it," Witherspoon exclaimed. After hearing her mother's stirring speech last night, we're sure that Ava's feedback will be overwhelmingly positive.
