NASA is looking for astronauts. In order to prep up for the upcoming missions, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is accepting applications from candidates that are going to be part of the new class of space explorers. As the agency's blog states:

With more human spacecraft in development in the United States today than at any other time in history, future astronauts will launch once again from the Space Coast of Florida on American-made commercial spacecraft, and carry out deep-space exploration missions that will advance a future human mission to Mars.

NASA will be taking applications between December 14, 2015 and February 2016, while the announcement to the selected candidates will occur in mid-2017. The new hires will be able to fly on any of four different vessels during their time at the agency: the International Space Station, two commercial crew spacecrafts that are currently under development by U.S. companies to facilitate space travel, and Orion deep-space exploration vehicle.

To this date, NASA has selected a total of 300 astronauts, 47 of which are currently operative. It is now time for new applicants to join the group. The requirements are a bachelor's degree in engineering, biological science, physical science or mathematics. You will also need three years of professional experience or at least 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft. You can find all the information on this page.
