Man allegedly stabs, kills roommate over last piece of fried chicken

On Friday night in Houston, a 38-year-old man reportedly stabbed his roommate to death after a brawl escalated over the last piece of homemade fried chicken the two men were eating.

When police arrived at the men's apartment around 11:30 PM, 34-year-old Darwin Perez Gonzalez was laying dead outside the entrance to the apartment complex on Lakewood Estates Drive. Witnesses said that the two roommates went outside to fight over the final drumstick after indulging in fried chicken.

Cardoso Rivera allegedly stabbed Gonzalez with a steak knife during the quarrel. Houston Police Department Homicide Detective Fil Waters said:

Rivera allegedly fled the scene, but when he later returned he was arrested and charged in the stabbing death. Police recovered the steak knife when they arrived at the scene. According to officers, Rivera admitted to the stabbing. He was also reportedly injured in the incident.
