A former New Hampshire prep school student was sentenced to a year in jail today for sexually assaulting a freshman girl in 2014 as part of a competition to rack up sexual conquests.

After a dismal performance in yesterday's third Republican debate, Jeb Bush insisted his White House bid is "not on life support."

3. Federal prosecutors have copies of alleged Fogle recordings
A U.S. attorney's office spokesman said today the FBI has copies of audio recordings in which Jared Fogle allegedly details his sexual encounters with children.

4. US, Chinese navies agree to maintain dialogue to avoid clashes
Relations between the U.S. and China have become especially tense following a tiff over the South China Sea. But the two countries have decided to open up communication and follow the rules.

5. You probably have herpes, the WHO says
The World Health Organization revealed today that two-thirds of the world's population under the age of 50 have the highly infectious herpes virus.
