Leave it to Adele to say what we're all thinking!

The 27-year-old gets hilariously candid in her cover story for i-D magazine, her first print interview in three years. Adele has been relatively tight-lipped about her family since welcoming son Angelo three years ago, but didn't mince words when asked about her new life as a mother.

"It's f**king hard. I thought it would be easy," Adele told the mag. "'Everyone f**king does it, how hard can it be?' Ohhhh..."

With what the writer describes as a dramatic sigh, Adele continued: "I had no idea. It is hard but it's phenomenal. It's the greatest thing I ever did. He makes me be a d**khead, and he makes me feel young and there's nothing more grounding than a kid kicking off and refusing to do what you're asking of them. It used to be that my own world revolved around me, but now it has to revolve around him."

While refusing to reference her son or her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, by name, Adele did tease the influence that her role has had on her upcoming album, 25.

"I think the album is about trying to clear out the past," she said. "Becoming a parent and moving past my mid-twenties, I simply don't have the capacity to worry about as many things that I used to really enjoy worrying about. ... I used to f**king love the drama of all of it," she continued, "but now I'm a mum I only have so much head space. I've got to clear a lot of stuff the f**k out, which is really therapeutic, 'cause I can really hold a grudge. Life is so much easier when you don't hoard your past."

Adele's highly anticipated third album will be released on Nov. 20, less than one month after her stunning new single, "Hello," pretty much broke the Internet.

In its first 24 hours online, the video for "Hello" racked up 27.7 million video views on Vevo, shattering the site's record previously held by Taylor Swift.

Suffice it to say -- 25 is off to a great start!
