125-Million-Year-Old Furball Discovered In Spain

A 125 million-year-old fossil has been unearthed by researchers in Spain — and they're calling it "exceptionally cute."

Researchers say the ancient creature has been preserved in exquisite detail, providing the oldest-known record of hedgehog-like spines.

The specimen's liver, lung and diaphragm tissues were found intact, as well as fur, spines and scales, which, according to one paleontologist, is extremely rare.

Scientists are describing it as "an exceptionally cute furball."

The little guy was likely the size of a mouse or rat at biggest and scurried around the feet of massive dinosaurs back in the day eating insects.

Scientists say it had pointy face, big ears and a fuzzy belly. Sounds pretty adorable for 125 million years old.
