If you were presented with this matchup in June as a potential series, it would've seemed like nonsense. But after scorching second halves, the Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers are division champions, and will face off in the ALDS.

The schedule for the series looks like this, with action beginning Thursday afternoon.

Game 1: Oct. 8, 3:37 p.m. ET

Game 2: Oct. 9, 12:45 p.m. ET

Game 3: Oct. 11, 8:10 p.m. ET

Game 4 (if necessary): Oct. 12, TBD

Game 5 (if necessary): Oct. 14, TBD

Toronto took four out of six between the two teams' meetings this season, last facing off in late August. The Jays will have David Price going up against Yovani Gallardo in Game 1, while Marcus Stroman and Cole Hamels are the probables for Game 2 in Toronto.

This will be the Blue Jays' first playoff appearance since Joe Carter walked off with a home run in Game 7 of the 1993 World Series. Texas last appeared in the postseason when they lost the AL Wild Card Game in 2012 -- immediately after back-to-back World Series losses in 2010 and 2011.
