Rebecca Minkoff has celebrity fans a-plenty, including "Girls" star Zosia Mamet and Bridget Moynahan.
Yet even big-time designers have big dreams.
"I have so many people on my wish list. I'd love to have Sienna miller or Dree Hemingway," says Minkoff.
Those two ladies can throw together ensembles that seem effortless, easy and wearable.
Which basically describes Minkoff's latest endeavor: Her Athleisure collection, which she launched with a fashion show at AOL.com on Tuesday. The pieces are sexy and comfortable -- harem pants, biker vests and T-shirts.
"I think now people are people are more comfortable experimenting with that. I have 100 millennials in my office who want to be able to look fashionable and look cool and be able able to go work out afterwards, or look like they worked out. Some of this is performance-based. Making pieces that are fun and cool," she says.
Combining fashion with function, says Minkoff, has "elevated the game. You can leave the gym and feel like you're still fashionable."
The mom of two says that off the runway, she can edit anyone's closet, except her own. "I recently had a friend come over and she did an intervention," she says, adding that they created piles of clothing to keep, give away or sell.
