The rest of the world got another strange and fascinating glimpse into the secret lives of Warren Jeffs' sect of polygamist Mormons this week.

The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting on new court documents that emerged recently, alleging the church has created a group of followers considered "seed bearers."

The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gained worldwide attention years ago when authorities raided a Texas compound and eventually arrested church leader Warren Jeffs.

Jeffs has since been convicted of "sexual assault" and "aggravated sexual assault" and was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years. But the convicted rapist still runs the church from his prison cell.

According to the court documents, Charlene Jeffs' -- the estranged sister-in-law of Warren -- claims that "a seed bearer is an elect man of a worthy bloodline chosen by the Priesthood to impregnate the FLDS women."

"FLDS men are no longer permitted to have children with their multiple wives. That privilege belongs to the seed bearer alone," the doctrine allegedly goes.

The documents also allege that the husbands are required to be in the room while the act of procreation with a "seed bearer" occurs.

"In layman terms, the husband is required to sit in the room while the chosen seed bearer, or a couple of them, rape his wife or wives."

So far the FLDS church has denied requests from multiple news organizations for comment on the allegations.
