Dalai Lama Under Evaluation At Mayo Clinic, Cancels Appearances
The Dalai Lama checked in to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota on Sunday following a routine examination.

Though the clinic did not indicate if there was a particular issue of concern, they did note that he is undergoing evaluations.

The Dalai Lama's office announced that doctors suggested the leader take several weeks of rest.

As such, his planned U.S. October appearances have been canceled.

He was scheduled to visit multiple states throughout the county over the course of the month with appearances at Smith College, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a stop in Philadelphia.

Travel to Colorado and Utah was also anticipated.

Thus far, there have been no further updates on the Dalai Lama's health from either his office or from the Mayo Clinic.
