There's no denying the past couple of months have been a whirlwind for Gwen Stefani.

Between touring with "No Doubt," her return to hit TV show "The Voice" and news of her shocking split with hubby Gavin Rossdale – there's been a lot on the 45-year-old singer's plate.

The mother of three confessed the balancing act has been difficult.

"I'm handling it day by day," Stefani told AOL in an exclusive interview. "The one thing I've learned through the years is to just be in the moment. It's really hard to balance it all but it seems to be working out."

But it's obvious the "Sweet Escape" singer is all about rolling with the punches. Despite her tumultuous year, Stefani happily dished on one of the many highlights of her summer.

"The ["No Doubt"] shows. I take it for granted a lot how much I love being up on stage. I think I was always meant to do that," Stefani gushed.

But that's not all the "No Doubt" front woman had to tell us. To the relief of many fans, Stefani confirmed she is hard at work on her next album!

"I just really walked into the studio and said, 'I'm doing this.'"

And great news for everyone still proudly bumpin' the old hits that catapulted Stefani to stardom ("Hollaback Girl" anyone?) – the songwriter says nothing has changed about her creative process.

"It's either you're given the gift of music or your not. I look at all the songs I've written and I think to myself, 'How did that happen?'" she admitted while happily announcing her latest Priceless Surprise with MasterCard.

The singer is surprising her fans – again – with a huge show in New York City on October 17th.

And with more than 10 years since the release of debut solo album "L.A.M.B.," Stefani admits she's learned a few things along the way.

"There's things you look back on and think you could've made different choices. But I feel like I'm on this journey and I'm being guided to where I need to be."

Check out the video above for the one question Gwen gets unusually "really deep" about.
