NASA: Making oxygen, sending people to Mars
BY: THE WEATHER CHANNEL
We could have people on mars in about 20 years.
NASA's administrator says: Preparations for manned missions are going as planned and people are expected to set foot on the planet sometime in the 2030's.
NASA has been developing and testing the Orion spacecraft for the trip. The Orion is designed to transport people into deep space.
NASA is also planning to send a new mars rover in five years.
The new rover, built like the curiosity rover, will attempt to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen.
Things are going as planned with the technology but how soon we get to mars also depends on another important factor: government funding.
