Where to See the Best Fall Foliage

While some may feel sad saying goodbye to summer on September 23, others are ready to ring in the official first day of fall! Fall is probably the greatest of all seasons, after all. So wave goodbye to sweaty subway rides, skipping dessert for bikini season and melty ice cream and say hello to cute boots, leather jackets, apple picking, pumpkin carving and a whole lot of Insta-worthy foliage!

Between fall fashion, seasonal activities and pumpkin spice lattes, there's a whole lot to look forward to starting today. We can't wait to strut down Broadway taking in the crisp fall weather in our favorite booties, chic sweaters or vests and cozy knit scarves (pumpkin spice in hand, of course). Maybe we'll even finish up that final summer read while chilling on a park bench and indulging in delicious apple cider.

If you're not in the city, you can look forward to cruising through back roads with the car windows down, belting along to Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" as you gaze at the gorgeous foliage in complete awe. Perhaps you'll even opt into an apple picking trip with bae where you can take a million adorable Insta pics by the apple trees for five minutes and then make a quick B-line to the caramel apple stand.

If you have youngsters at home (or are just awesomely young at heart), you can look forward to a plethora of leaf piles to jump into all over the yard, planning your super original Halloween costume ("I'm a mouse, duh") and "ghosting" your neighbors while leaving exciting treats on their front doorsteps.

Plus, the beginning of fall marks prime football season! Even if you don't actually care about the game, few social activities hold a candle to decking out in full team spirit mode and hitting the parking lot for a pre-game tailgate!

All in all, there's a lot to look forward to this season. Turn that frown upside down, throw on those over-the-knee Stuart Weitzmans that've been collecting dust in the back of your closet all summer and get pumped for an amazing, beautiful and ultra-spirited fall season.
