Naked jogging couple leaves baby alone on beach
Two parents landed themselves in jail after police say the couple left their baby alone on the beach in Louisiana while they went naked jogging.
The 20-month-old daughter was left alone on the beach in Cameron Parish, Louisiana while the parents decided to go on a run in the nude on Tuesday morning, according to KPLC.
Cameron Parish police received a report about a deserted baby on the beach around 10:16 A.M. on Tuesday, according to Sheriff Ron Johnson.
Johnson said officers found the 1-year-old covered in mosquito bites and sunburnt on the sand. The baby girl was recovered two miles away from a Ford Explorer that was apparently left running.
Authorities located parents, Cody and Monique Bourgeois, almost two hours later and promptly arrested them. They are both charged with child desertion and obscenity.
Drugs were believed to be a factor in the incident. Johnson told KATC that child protective services were called and the daughter is in the care of her paternal grandmother.
