Photos finally emerge of Jason Pierre-Paul's mangled hand
By JOHN DORN
More than two months after losing a finger in a July 4 fireworks disaster, Jason Pierre-Paul is trying to convince the New York Giants that he's ready to play football again. But after photos have finally emerged, the team's skepticism may not be too unwarranted.
This coming hours after Pierre-Paul tweeted, almost mockingly, that he can return to form without his index finger.
I can't think of the last time my index finger got me a sack 😉

Pierre-Paul also posted a workout video of him doing conditioning drills in Florida after the Giants alerted him that he wouldn't be activated for the start of the season.
The photo can be seen in the video above, and is also embedded at the bottom of this post. Warning: The photo may be jarring to some readers.
JPP is still attempting to return to the field this season, and early reports indicated that he had the finger removed rather than treated in an effort to resume play sooner. A report emerged this week that part of Pierre-Paul's thumb was also lost. The new photos confirm as much.
Based on what we now know, do you think Pierre-Paul's football career is over? Or do you agree that missing fingers won't stop him from getting sacks? Let us know by tweeting to us at @AOLSports.
