The show ran for seven seasons, from 1999 to 2006, and featured stars such as Martin Sheen, Bradley Whitford, Allison Janney, and Rob Lowe.

The creator of the show, Aaron Sorkin, is also well known for his show "The Newsroom."Good thing for us that he thought up such a popular show, since it ended up being the precursor to great political heavyweights like "House of Cards," "The Good Wife," and "Madam Secretary."
