Wife stays with husband despite his unsavory criminal act

Updated

When Sarah Blackman's husband began acting strangely and lying to her about his whereabouts, she never expected that he was committing a gruesome, unsavory crime. However, after 31-year old married father-of-three Alan Blackman admitted intent to commit a sexual offense and attempted intercourse with a horse, Sarah says that she plans to stay with her husband.

After an animal was found injured in Redenhall, Norfolk on August 6, police issued CCTV images of a man resembling Alan, who was arrested and charged. After initially claiming innocence, Alan eventually admitted his crime in court.

A devastated Sarah has said that while she is "pretty disgusted" by her husband's actions, she still loves him. She told The Sun, "I can't turn that off overnight."

While Sarah is still confused and overwhelmed, she explained that her husband seemed to have changed in recent months. She said:

"He just didn't act like my husband. He was going out all the time and ignoring my texts and calls and lying about where he had been."

Judge Stephen Holt, who will sentence Alan on October 23, said:

"This is clearly a case where a psychiatric report would assist the court. You have pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity but the court needs to know more about you."

It is unclear as to whether Sarah and Alan will be able to move on, but she has stated that she intends to stay married to him.
