Looking great while traveling is a new necessity because, let's be honest, the pictures from your trip (and there will be lots) are bound to turn up on at least one of your social media feeds. And the last thing you want to do is post a pic of yourself with faded lips, sallow skin or haggard hair. So whether you're a seasoned traveler or very rarely get away, we've got a few tricks to keep you looking flawless while on the go.

Here are five life-changing hacks that will ensure your travel beauty game (and your Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds) stays on point.

1. Freshen Up With Makeup Towelettes
Makeup remover is a must-have for every stylish traveler's Dopp kit. (Use generic hotel bar soap? Not a chance!) But rather than haul a bottle of liquid remover in your checked luggage, stash a pack of towelettes in your carry-on. You can use them classically, of course -- to remove your makeup at the end of the day or (ta-da!) to freshen up mid-flight. Our go-to: RevitaLift Radiant Smoothing Wet Cleansing Towelettes. Not only do these miracle wipes remove makeup and dirt, but they also exfoliate to help you look fresh and glowy from the moment you land.

2. Set Your Makeup Before an Excursion
When you're trying to pack in a day chock-full of sightseeing, a rendezvous back at the hotel to touch up your makeup before dinner isn't exactly in the plans. The fix: Use a lightweight setting spray before you venture out. If you do it right (shake, then spray five times in an X and T motion), you should expect your makeup look to be smudge-free, melt-free and, most important, stress-free all day and night. If you want to play it extra safe, use long-wear foundation and long-wear lipstick, too!

3. Boost Your Blowout With Dry Shampoo
The best way to combat an oily scalp and limp hair is with a dry shampoo spray. Plus, if you're traveling for a long weekend, you might be able to get away with not packing shampoo or conditioner. More room for shoes. Score.

4. Pack Your Own Pillowcase
A sneaky way to help your skin retain its moisture while you're away (at home, too) is to sleep on a silk pillowcase. The natural fabric is highly absorbent but won't feel damp. In other words, it will soak up perspiration but still let your skin breathe. Add a nighttime cream to your evening routine to help boost cell renewal for a double punch of skin-plumping power.

5. Extend Your Manicure With Oils and Top Coat
Pre-trip plans usually involve a manicure or a pedicure (sometimes both). And whether you're a DIY nail gal or prefer to get your digits done at a salon, there are a few tricks we've picked up from our favorite pro nail artist, Tom Bachik. Beyond how to master lust-worthy nail art, he told us that the easiest way to freshen up a dull coat (and prevent chipping) is to reseal the nail with a new layer of top coat two to three days after your initial polish. Then, simply hydrate the cuticle with a secret double agent -- facial oil.
