Just ahead of Labor Day, a new No. 1 takes over atop Billboard's Songs of the Summer chart, as OMI's "Cheerleader" dethrones Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again," featuring Charlie Puth, which led the list through the first 13 weeks of the season.

With one summer tracking week left, can "Cheerleader" wrap the summer at No. 1?

Billboard's Songs of the Summer Chart

The 20-position Songs of the Summer running tally (up from 10 in previous years) tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 chart from Memorial Day through Labor Day. At the end of the season, aka, next week, the top song of the summer will be crowned.

"Cheerleader" has climbed from No. 16 on the season's first Songs of the Summer survey, thanks to its ascent to No. 1 on the Hot 100 dated July 25, replacing "Again" after 12 weeks at No. 1 (beginning April 25, prior to the start of the summer tracking span).

With "Cheerleader" at No. 2 on the Hot 100, dropping from the top after six nonconsecutive weeks, and "Again" at No. 15 and continuing its descent, the breakthrough hit from OMI (born Omar Samuel Pasley) looks likely to close out summer as the season's top title.

What will ultimately wind up as the hottest season's hottest song? Check back next week when the official top song of the summer of 2015 will be revealed.
